In this article I’m going to talk about 4 easy ways you can get in better shape. If getting in better shape were easy, everyone would be the perfect size, but because people think they have to starve themselves and spend hours at the gym, they end up doing nothing.

First of all, getting regular exercise is one of the most important things to do when it comes to maintaining proper health. Consistent exercise helps lower resting heart rates, increase muscle mass, increase metabolism, boost immunity, and improve the cardiovascular system.

Regular exercise also elevates mood and improves overall health. Even 5-10 minutes per day of consistent exercise has great benefits for your health. Anything is better than sitting, right?

Regular exercise offers some incredible benefits to your bone health, brain health, and skin. It improves just about every aspect of your health from the inside out. Physical activity on a consistent basis can help increase the production of hormones that lift your mood, make you happier, and improve your sleep.

Obviously, a wonderful perk of regular exercise is losing weight and improving your appearance. Increased energy makes future workouts more fun.

By speeding up your heart rate and blood flow, you are increasing oxygen and nutrients that are carried to the cells in your body and expediting the waste products being moved out of the body.

By doing this, it lessens the risk of you developing a chronic disease, including cancer. Since you sweat, you release toxins and by strengthening your entire body from the inside out, you are aiding your body in digestion.

When you are under stress it can show up in your skin, so relieving stress via exercise oftentimes clears up skin problems.

Increased blood flow assists every system in your body. So get up out of that chair and start moving! It’s the best gift you can give your mind, body and  spirit.

Get in Better Shape by Implementing These 4 Things Daily

  1. Add more movement to everything you do. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Instead of texting at the office or at home, get up and walk into the same room as the person and actually talk to them. Park your car further away so you intentionally walk more steps. Wash your own car. Clean your own pool if you have one. Do chores around the house instead of paying someone to do them for you. Before you sit down to watch TV or read, do 20 jumping jacks. Before you eat a big meal, do 20 squats. These little bio-hacks will keep you in shape and keep you from gaining weight. Even small changes to your regular routines and habits can help.
  2. Set up Accountability. Walk with your neighbor. Having a partner makes exercise more enjoyable and makes you less likely to blow it off. Plan family outings that involve physical activity, like hiking, bowling, or a day at the park. Joining a gym or an exercise group or class is also a great way to make exercise more fun and tends to keep you more consistent.
  3. Track your progress. Keep a journal of what exercise you are doing and how you are feeling. Get in touch with your energy levels. Use a scale to monitor your weight. Keep a food journal. Writing things down gets them out of your head and makes them a reality. Set goals and make sure you are staying on track to achieve them.
  4. Make it fun. Listen to music or even watch TV while you are working out and it will help the time go by faster and make it more enjoyable. Mix it up and keep it fun and interesting. Jogging everyday gets boring, so buy a jump rope, a hula hoop, or something that gets you moving, but takes you back to when you were a kid and loved these activities. When having fun, you are bound to get in better shape.
